Today, Cloud Sherpas was recognized by Inc. Magazine as one of the top 100 job creators among private companies in the United States. A recipient of the 2013 Inc. Hire Power Award, Cloud Sherpas ranks #68 on the list, with 195 jobs created. Additionally, Cloud Sherpas is ranked second in the state of Georgia and fifth in the IT Services industry.

Inc. Magazine introduced its Inc. Hire Power Award in 2012 as “a salute to the job creators who are restoring lives and rebuilding the economy by putting Americans back to work.” The honorees on this year’s list – who created between 14,240 and 140 jobs (for a combined total of 51,327) in just 18 months – represent a variety of industries and hail from all corners of the United States, and we are extremely proud to be recognized as a contributor to the American economy.

In addition to Inc. Magazine, other notable media outlets – including CRN, who ranked Cloud Sherpas as #1 on its 2013 Fast Growth List, and Fox News, who featured Cloud Sherpas on its “The New Economy” segment as a leading creator of jobs in the cloud – have recognized our significant growth.

We have always taken the responsibility of building new job opportunities within the local communities and countries in which we operate very seriously, and Cloud Sherpas is thrilled to be recognized for this commitment. This honor, as well as our ranking on the 2013 Inc. 500 List, highlights a fantastic year of expansion for Cloud Sherpas in America and worldwide.

So what exactly are we doing to achieve such high levels of growth? The answer is two-fold, encompassing not only how we’re growing, but also what’s enabling us to continue this growth.

First, how are we growing? Beyond our acquisitions, which have helped to expand our areas of expertise and global footprint while securing hundreds of jobs, we are continuously creating a tremendous number of new jobs in the ever-expanding cloud. Specifically, over the past year, 60% of the jobs we filled (more than 250) were new positions that never existed before. In fact, we’ve had so many new opportunities become available this past year that tech career hub Dice recently published an article with tips on how to secure one of these positions.

This strategy is not without complexity, as the very industry in which we operate (cloud technology services) is competitive and specialized. To meet this challenge, we are creating these jobs by focusing on experienced resource hiring as well as training – creating a job and helping a qualified candidate come up to speed and even get certified to fill the role. In addition, we are committed to residing and operating in the countries where we conduct business. Other firms may look solely at revenue opportunities within a region and seek only to maximize offshore resources to increase their margins, but Cloud Sherpas operates differently. As we expand our global footprint, we strive to create new opportunities for our employees, our clients and, equally as important, each country’s workforce. By doing so, we are creating local jobs and new opportunities.

Second, what is fueling this growth? The answer is simple: today’s high rates of cloud adoption and the need this trend creates for a Cloud Services Brokerage (CSB). Cloud Sherpas is a CSB offering cloud advisory and technology services for companies across all industries around the world. As we’ve previously shared, the CSB is a new kind of IT channel partner that has experienced (and will likely continue to experience) significant growth alongside the proliferation of cloud technologies.

Helping organizations to realize the value of the cloud, leveraging a local and global workforce and always challenging ourselves to find innovative ways to bring value to our customers, we intend to strive for regular inclusion on Inc. Magazine’s list of top job creators. Cloud Sherpas is thrilled to be recognized as a top job creator in the US with an Inc. Hire Power Award.
